Kona Fish Report April 26, 2011 – Ono For Austin and Will

Austin and Will of Houston, TX fished with me today.  After yesterday’s blue marlin right in front the harbor I thought for sure we’d get a shot at one today. We tried hard, fishing from the harbor down 18 miles  south to Hookena without a bite.  We found a nice porpoise school that had a few ahi but the fish stayed down deep so we decided to troll our way back north.  Arriving outside the harbor we still didn’t get a bite.  So as a last resort we trolled past the airport and back to the harbor and got lucky with a nice 25lb ono.  Not a monster but the guys were glad to not get skunked!
