Britt and Friends Score on a Short Day

Good friend Britt Craven and two of his buddies from college John and Craig chartered me today for a late 3/4 day.  John and Craig flew into Kona on the 6:30am flight and made it to the boat around 7:30am.  The game plan was to fish for something to eat (mahimahi or ono) so we decided to stay close to the harbor.  On the way out we found a nice log floating in the water and picked up 2 nice mahimahi.

With enough fish for dinner we decided to look outside for bigger fish.  At about 10am we found a big pile of porpoise which was loaded with nice ahi.  The ahi were jumping all over the place chasing flying fish followed by hungry porpoise.  We immediately took a hit on our first pass and John fought a 133lb ahi to the boat.  On the next pass we hooked another nice ahi for Craig which weighed 88lbs.  With two nice ahi and two mahimahi in the boat we started our way back to the harbor and hooked two more mahimahi on the way in.  We were back at the harbor by 2:30pm.
